Practical Information for Your Visit

Getting here: The Blue Mountains is roughly 90 minutes from Sydney CBD by car via the M4 and Great Western Highway. Trains run regularly from Central Station to all major mountain towns, with the journey to Katoomba taking about two hours.

Getting around: Many events are walkable from train stations, particularly in Katoomba, Blackheath, and Springwood. For events in Lithgow, Oberon, or Rydal, you will need a car.

Weather in February: Expect warm days (typically 22 to 28 degrees) and cooler evenings (12 to 16 degrees). The mountains can be a good five to eight degrees cooler than Sydney, so bring a layer for the evening. Afternoon thunderstorms are common in late summer, so pack an umbrella if you are heading to an outdoor event.

Bookings: For ticketed events, book ahead. Especially for live music at smaller venues like the Baroque Room and Blue Mountains Theatre, which have limited capacity.
