About Us

A local Blue Mountains family sharing our love of heritage cottages and mountain living with guests from around the world.

Our Story

I grew up in Western Sydney, and Rei was born in China. We met and married in Japan before returning to Australia in 2009. Nearly 15 years ago, we made the move to the Blue Mountains as a family. Our children have grown up here, and we've never looked back. There's something special about raising a family surrounded by bushland, clean mountain air, and a community that genuinely looks out for each other.

We've always loved the history and architecture of the Blue Mountains — the heritage cottages, the art deco buildings, the stories that every old home seems to hold. When we found Rosebud Cottage, we fell in love immediately. It was a big risk, but we decided to take the leap and run it as an Airbnb so we could share the mountains with visitors from around the world — and hopefully make some new friends along the way.

Not long after, Adaline came on the market. It was a run-down miner's hut that sat at the front of our property, but we could see its potential. We had a vision to restore and revitalise it for the 21st century while retaining its original charm. Months of hard work later, Adaline was reborn — a cosy heritage cottage with modern comforts, ready to welcome guests.

Today, we love nothing more than helping guests discover the same things we fell in love with: morning mist in the valleys, the smell of eucalyptus after rain, a wood fire crackling on a cold evening, and the warm hospitality of our mountain community.

Our Hosting Philosophy

🏡

Home Away From Home

We want you to feel like you're staying at a friend's beautiful cottage, not a sterile hotel room. Real books on the shelves, local art on the walls, a well-stocked kitchen.

🌿

Local Knowledge

We live here because we love it. We're happy to share our favourite walks, the best coffee spots, and the hidden gems that most visitors never find.

Attention to Detail

Quality linens, proper coffee, a wood fire ready to light, toiletries that smell like the bush — little touches that make a stay memorable.

Why We Love Direct Bookings

You might have found us through Airbnb or Booking.com, and that's great! But we love it when guests book directly with us. Here's why:

  • Better price for you: Booking platforms take 15-20% commission. When you book direct, we can pass those savings on to you.
  • Direct communication: No middleman. Message us directly with questions, special requests, or just to say hi.
  • Personal touch: We can include local goodies, arrange special celebrations, or help plan your itinerary.
  • Flexibility: Need to adjust your dates? Want an early check-in? It's much easier when we're talking directly.
