What's On in the Blue Mountains This Week: 10–16 February 2026

10 February 20266 min read

Every week in the Blue Mountains brings something worth showing up for. Whether you're visiting from Sydney and want to time your trip around something special, or you're a local looking for a reason to get off the couch, here's what's happening this week.

Valentine's Day Takes Over (Friday 14 February)

Let's start with the obvious. Valentine's Day falls on Friday this week, and the mountains do romance better than most places. Cool air. Misty valleys. Actual ambiance instead of a rushed dinner at some overcrowded Sydney restaurant.

Valentine's Day Dinner at No.1 Sublime Point

The Fairmont Resort in Leura is hosting a sit-down Valentine's dinner at their No.1 Sublime Point restaurant. You'll get a three-course menu, a glass of bubbles on arrival, live background music, and a rose for each couple. The venue overlooks the Jamison Valley, and on a clear evening, the sunset alone is worth the booking.

Insider Tip

The mountains do romance better than most places. Cool air, misty valleys, and actual ambiance instead of a rushed dinner at some overcrowded Sydney restaurant. Book ahead for Valentine's Day—the best spots fill up fast.

Details: Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains, 1 Sublime Point Road, Leura. Friday 14 February. Bookings essential.

Cooking for Two at Home

If dining out isn't your thing, swing past the Leura Gourmet on the Mall for local cheeses, charcuterie, and a good bottle of something. The Hydro Majestic also has Valentine's packages if you want to go all out without leaving the mountains.

CORNERS Exhibition — Last Weeks (Until 22 February)

Hannah Hausmann's solo exhibition CORNERS is in its final stretch at Gallery NWC on Katoomba Street. The opening was earlier this month, but the exhibition runs daily through 22 February. If you haven't seen it yet, this week is your window.

The gallery sits on the main drag in Katoomba, making it a natural stop on any cafe crawl. It's free to browse and takes about 30 minutes to walk through properly.

Details: Gallery NWC, 188 Katoomba Street, Katoomba. Open daily through 22 February.

Magpie Up Style Market (Sunday 15 February)

The Magpie Up Style Market returns to Lawson this Sunday. This isn't your standard farmers' market. Think handmade clothing, jewellery, vintage finds, artwork, woodwork, and collectables. It's the kind of market where you go in for a browse and come out with a hand-thrown mug and a conversation with the person who made it.

Lawson is an easy stop on the train line, and the market sits right in the village centre. Combine it with a coffee at one of Lawson's underrated cafes.

Details: Adelaide Street, Lawson. Sunday 15 February.

Pieces of Pottery (Sunday 15 February)

Down in Lithgow, the monthly Pieces of Pottery event runs on Sunday at the ArtHouse at the Pottery. It's a mix of song, poetry, theatre, dance, and more. The Pottery Estate is one of Lithgow's best-kept secrets—a creative space that feels a world away from everything.

Details: ArtHouse at the Pottery, 4 Silcock Street, Pottery Estate, Lithgow. Sunday 15 February.

Looking Ahead: What's Coming Up

Melinda Schneider: The Tender Tour (20 February)

Golden Guitar winner Melinda Schneider brings her new album Tender to the Baroque Room in Katoomba on Thursday 20 February. If you know country music in Australia, you know Melinda. If you don't, this is a solid introduction. The Baroque Room is an intimate venue, so every seat feels close.

Details: The Carrington Hotel, 15-47 Katoomba Street, Katoomba. Thursday 20 February. Tickets via the venue.

The Seven Valleys Wild Food Festival (21 February)

Saturday 21 February brings the Seven Valleys Wild Food Festival to Lithgow. This is a celebration of local food, wild landscapes, and community. If you're in the mountains that weekend, it's worth the drive out to Lithgow. Local producers, creative food concepts, and a genuine sense of place.

Details: Lithgow. Saturday 21 February. More information via Lithgow City Council.

Simone Waddell Jazz and Soul Night (21 February)

Internationally acclaimed jazz singer Simone Waddell and her trio take over the Baroque Room on Saturday 21 February. If you missed the Melinda Schneider show the night before, this is another excellent reason to visit the Carrington.

Details: The Carrington Hotel, Katoomba. Saturday 21 February.

Springwood Growers Market (21 February)

The fortnightly Springwood Growers Market runs Saturday 21 February. Fresh regional produce direct from the farmers and producers. It's at the Blue Mountains Theatre precinct on Macquarie Road, Springwood.

Details: 106-108 Macquarie Road, Springwood. Saturday 21 February.

The Big One on the Horizon: Blue Mountains Music Festival (13-15 March)

Insider Tip

If you're planning a trip for next month, lock in 13 to 15 March. The Blue Mountains Music Festival of Folk, Roots and Blues returns to Katoomba for its 29th year. Book accommodation soon—the mountains fill up fast during the festival.

The lineup includes Steve Poltz, Harry Manx, Willie Watson, Rainbow Girls, Elephant Sessions, Hat Fitz and Cara, Spooky Men's Chorale, and dozens more.

Three days of music across multiple venues in the heart of Katoomba. Tickets are available via Ticketbooth.

Details: Various venues, Katoomba. 13-15 March 2026. Tickets at ticketbooth.com.au.

Where to Stay

If any of these events have convinced you to make a weekend of it, a self-contained cottage is the way to go. You get your own space, a kitchen for morning coffee, and a base camp for exploring the mountains at your own pace. No reception desks, no checkout pressure.

Our Katoomba cottages sleep up to four, sit within walking distance of the village centre, and put you right in the middle of it all.
